Dr. LaVeena B. Archers, D.N.M.

Founder & Executive Director, ICONIC Board of Holistic Health

Dr. LaVeena B. Archers brings an extraordinary convergence of credentials, clinical experience, and personal mission to the ICONIC Board. With over 26 years of clinical practice spanning natural medicine, holistic nutrition, functional medicine, Human Design, and integrative wellness, Dr. Archers occupies a rare position at the intersection of evidence-based and holistic healing traditions.

As a Certified Executive Coach (Center for Executive Coaching) and Education Director of Jovian Archive — the official home of the Human Design System — Dr. Archers understands the demands placed on practitioners who bridge modalities and serve clients at the highest levels. She has seen firsthand the gap that exists: dedicated practitioners with genuine mastery who lack a recognized professional credential that communicates their depth of training to clients, employers, and institutions.

"Holistic health transformed my life and the lives of my clients. Creating a credentialing body that honors the real work these practitioners do — that is not simply a professional mission. It is a deeply personal one."

Her faculty roles at The Shift Network and the Rockwell School of Holistic Medicine place her at the forefront of integrative health education. As Board-Certified in both Holistic Functional Medicine and Holistic Nutrition, Dr. Archers brings a clinical precision to the ICONIC Board's credentialing standards that distinguishes the institution from less rigorous alternatives.

The Founding Story

The ICONIC Board of Holistic Health was established to bridge a critical gap in the professional landscape: the absence of a rigorous, independent credentialing body that could recognize and verify the genuine mastery of holistic health practitioners.

For decades, holistic health practitioners — regardless of their clinical depth, training hours, or demonstrated competency — had no single recognized standard by which to be evaluated and credentialed. Clients seeking qualified practitioners had no reliable way to verify credentials. Employers and institutions had no framework to distinguish practitioners by verified competency rather than self-reported experience.

Dr. LaVeena B. Archers, drawing on her 26 years of clinical practice and her experience directing education at some of the field's most respected institutions, identified this gap as the defining unmet need in holistic health professionalization. In founding the ICONIC Board, she set out to create something the field had never had: a standard built by practitioners, governed independently, and respected by both the holistic and conventional medical communities.

The ICONIC Board does not compete with education providers or modality certifiers. It exists at the intersection of education and practice — credentialing the practitioner and their professional conduct, not the modality. This distinction places the ICONIC Board in the same structural role as SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) or PMI (Project Management Institute): not a school, but the private professional body that sets and enforces the practice standard — building institutional authority through rigor and market trust, not government mandate.

Our Mission

To establish and maintain the highest standard of credentialing for holistic health practitioners — creating a trusted, transparent ecosystem where authentic healing wisdom is recognized, verified, and publicly accountable.

Founded By

Practitioners

The ICONIC Board was created by working clinical practitioners who understood the standards gap from direct professional experience — not by administrators or investors.

Structural Model

Independent Board

Organized as an independent credentialing body — structurally distinct from any education provider, modality association, or practitioner membership organization.

Scope

Multi-Modality

Credentials the practitioner's holistic health practice across modalities — not a single discipline. Human Design, functional medicine, nutrition, and related fields all recognized under one framework.

What Guides Every Decision

The ICONIC Board's credentialing decisions, governance policies, and public statements are all evaluated against these foundational commitments.

Verified Over Assumed

Every credential the ICONIC Board issues represents verified education, documented practice hours, and confirmed competency — not self-reported claims or grandfathered recognition.

Publicly Transparent

All ICONIC credentials are publicly verifiable via QR code or online lookup. Governance policies are published. Standards are documented. Transparency is non-negotiable, not aspirational.

Practitioner-Governed

Standards are set by practitioners with clinical experience in the modalities being credentialed — not by external administrators with no working knowledge of holistic health practice.

How the Board Operates

Governance Structure

The ICONIC Board operates under a formal governance model designed to maintain the independence, objectivity, and consistency that credentialing authority requires.

01

Executive Directorship

The Executive Director holds authority over day-to-day operations, credential issuance policy, and external institutional relationships. All credentialing decisions are made or delegated under the Executive Director's oversight and are documented in the credential registry.

02

Standards Review Process

Credentialing standards are reviewed on an annual cycle. Proposed amendments are circulated to the Advisory Board for input before adoption. A formal change log is maintained and published. No standard change takes effect without documented review.

03

Credential Issuance Authority

Credentials are issued only after all eligibility requirements are verified against submitted documentation. Credential numbers are unique, permanently registered, and publicly verifiable. Credentials can be revoked for cause, subject to a documented appeals process.

04

Conflict of Interest Policy

All board members, advisory council members, and staff involved in credentialing decisions are required to disclose conflicts of interest. Any party with a conflict is recused from the relevant decision. Disclosures are maintained on file.

Credential Issuance Process

1

Application Submission

Applicant submits credentials, education documentation, practice hour verification, and a signed attestation of adherence to the ICONIC Board Code of Ethics.

2

Document Verification

All submitted credentials are independently verified against issuing institutions. Education hours and practice documentation are reviewed for completeness against tier-specific requirements.

3

Eligibility Decision

A formal eligibility determination is made and documented. Applicants who do not meet criteria receive a detailed explanation and are eligible to reapply after addressing deficiencies.

4

Credential Issuance & Registration

Approved applicants receive a unique credential number, a digital badge, and a QR-linked verification certificate. The credential is registered in the public ICONIC directory and is immediately verifiable.

5

Annual Renewal

Credentials are maintained through annual continuing education documentation and a renewal attestation. Lapses result in credential suspension; credentials are reinstated upon fulfillment of CE requirements.

Independent Advisory Oversight

The ICONIC Board is establishing an independent Advisory Board of distinguished practitioners, educators, and researchers to provide guidance on credentialing standards, continuing education requirements, and professional ethics.
